Powell to Wigan?

I have been trying to ignore this as mere speculation but there are signs that there may be real legs to this. Sir Chris's odds on replacing Roberto Martinez in the grim wastes of Pieland were shortened drastically by various Bookmakers yesterday and I believe one has even stopped taking bets.

Someone I have known for 30 years who has always had decent contacts at the Club is sure SCP is on his way. I am hearing Powell's Summer budget is tiny and the wage cap will limit loanee ambitions. Let's hope these are just unfounded rumours on all counts.

  2. Pleased to report that SCP is now out to 100/1 with BetVictor. The Wally with The Brolly is now odds on with most bookies. Good luck to Wigan!!

  3. Wyn Grant blogged, or commented, about an almost inevitable end of season departure (IIRC)some time last year. From that moment on I've feared SCP's departure was a done deal.

  4. Quite ironic that his managerial prowess was being questioned when we went through a winless streak around Christmas. Now the possibility of his departure is quite unnerving.
As for the bookmakers, I think Millwall had a number of bookies favourites prior to the bloke from St Johnstone,s getting the vote.
The sooner we get a buyer and rid of Jiminges (or whatever his name is), the better.
