The Coupon 5

A second blank week last weekend from four so far (only two out of four on each line). This will be my fifth and possibly my last with this bet if it fails to provide a return. I have had to take on a couple of international matches in order to get eight results I feel comfortable with and as I type, neither of those selections are winning!


I have gone for the Czech Republic to beat Scotland in Prague. Scotland have struggled to score goals away from home and the Czechs know that a win here will give them the edge against probably their main rival for a runner-up place to Spain. I did think twice before betting against my home nation but I am settled in the thought that if it goes down it will be a result for me ahead of the Spain game on Tuesday.


I am also taking the Republic of Ireland to beat Russia because I think the odds of 6/4 are generous against an Ireland team who have been playing well and getting results.


Tomorrow, I am quite comfortable with my League One homes of Carlisle, Colchester, Rochdale, Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton. My punt on Peterborough to win at Hartlepool is a risk bearing in mind the Pools good win at Plymouth last week.
