Brum first up away

Predictably, given the Olympics, we are away on the first day of the season to Birmingham which should provide an immediate Chanpionship test. We follow that with two winnable home games against Leceister on the Tuesday and Hull City the following Saturday. Palace have to come the Valley on 15th September, by which time we should have a reasonable view of which direction our season is likely headed.

Both matches against Leicster, Cardiff and Peterborough are midweek fixtures. Blackpool away is 6th October (too cold) and we go to Millwall on Saturday 1st December. Ipswich come to the Valley on Boxing Day and we go to Derby before New Year and Watford on New Years Day.

I suspect I will miss the Selhurst Park clash on 2nd February as England play Scotland that day at Twickenham (Shit). I may also miss Millwall at home as it clashed with France v Scotland in the 6 Nations (Merde).

Only other high spot for me is Brighton away on Easter Monday.

We finish the season away at Middlesboro and home to Bristol City.

  1. YOu are deluding yourself if you think Hull and Leicester are winnable games- both of us are pushing for promotion- both of us are gonna be spending better money this season with both managers setting the goals of playoffs at least (we were 8th and 9th last season.
Yes you have come up and are going to be something different- but give the other sides credit.

  2. Anon - I expect us to win at least half of our home games in the Championship. We will have to have a go at everyone who comes to the Valley and Leicester and Hull are sides we can expect to compete with at home. Therefore they are winnable matched in my opinion.

  5. CA - Yes, impressive isn't it! Managed this one without trying in the slightest. I didn't have Leicester or Hull City down as promotion contenders, but I know better now.
